Activity on Robinhood Chain has dropped to 6.2 million daily transactions, cutting fee revenue despite the network holding over $1 billion in deposits.
The Robinhood Chain network recorded an average of 6.2 million daily transactions between October 2 and October 8, 2026, according to CoinDesk calculations based on growthepie records. Operational activity retreated 20% compared to the previous seven days, extending the contraction in daily infrastructure usage following the 10.8 million daily transactions noted in the middle of the previous month.
The technical slowdown directly impacts Robinhood's revenue stream. An analysis report published by Bernstein in September 2026 revealed that the firm retains nearly 90% of the fees generated by the network, meaning a reduction in trading volume decreases its revenue. Robinhood launched this blockchain in July 2026 to enable asset transfers and lending on Ethereum, in addition to planning continuous trading of tokens linked to stocks and funds.
Daily active addresses fell 31% compared to mid-September data, averaging 322,000 during the period from October 2 to October 8. This decrease does not necessarily equate to the abandonment of that proportion of individual participants, as a single operator often controls multiple wallet addresses and a single automated program can generate thousands of transactions.
Spot exchange platforms, where tokens are bought and sold directly, brokered $7.45 billion between October 2 and October 8, representing a 21% drop compared to the $9.46 billion from the previous week, according to CoinDesk measurements based on DefiLlama. The decentralized exchange application Uniswap processed approximately 77% of that amount.
Despite the lower turnover in spot operations, deposited funds have not left the Robinhood infrastructure. Deposits held in lending and trading applications increased by about 2% weekly to reach $1.04 billion, while the supply of dollar-pegged stablecoins advanced to $1.1 billion.
This retention of balances indicates that capital remains locked within the network awaiting market movements. Meanwhile, the financial derivatives segment showed an opposite trend: the seven-day cumulative volume in perpetual futures contracts, which allow taking positions on prices without acquiring the underlying assets, rose 26% to $7.35 billion, according to DefiLlama records.
Revenue from fees paid by users stood at about $65,000 per day between October 2 and October 8, reflecting a 39% drop compared to the previous week. The figure is substantially lower than the $8 million collected in a single day at the beginning of September, during the system's peak activity.
To incentivize platform usage, Robinhood extended the payment of network fees for swaps over 50 cents made from Robinhood Wallet until December 31, 2026, a promotion originally scheduled to end on September 29. In parallel, the trading platform Arcus began distributing additional reward points on October 1 for stock token swaps made through the same wallet.
This extension gives the network a margin of less than three months to revitalize its deposits of over $1 billion before users begin to bear the fees themselves.
